Prepare the phone

Connect to stable Wi-Fi, charge the phone, and keep the installation QR code open on another screen. Keep any direct installation link or manual activation details private and follow the instructions attached to the purchased plan.

Typical installation flow

Menu names vary by manufacturer and operating-system version, but the sequence is usually similar.

  • Open Cellular, Mobile Network, or SIM settings.
  • Choose Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan.
  • Scan the QR code or enter the supplied activation details manually.
  • Label the new line with your destination name.
  • Select the travel eSIM for mobile data and enable data roaming for that line at the destination.

Avoid accidental roaming

Turn off mobile-data switching if you do not want the phone to fall back to your home SIM. You can usually keep the home line enabled for incoming messages while assigning all cellular data to the travel eSIM, but normal carrier charges may still apply to calls and messages.

Do not delete the eSIM profile while troubleshooting unless support instructs you to do so. A deleted profile may not be reinstallable with the same QR code.
